Good morning Pine Hill parents. Yesterday a letter was mailed providing information about next week's change to on-campus hybrid instruction as well as your child's placement either in distance learning or hybrid, their teacher, and whether they are in the AM or PM cohort. Many factors impacted your child's placement, most notably your preference. We tried to meet your request and make sure they stayed with their teacher. This was possible if the parent request matched the teacher's assignment. Your child's teacher will be reaching out to you later in the week with details about adding your child to their Google Classroom and Dojo Classroom if those are changing. Thank you for your understanding and partnership as we continue to navigate through this pandemic. Please contact us with any questions you may have.

Good evening Pine Hill and South Bay, Today, the District met with the South Bay Teachers’ Association and the decision was made to postpone the start of the school year for both students and staff by one week. The first day of instruction for students will be August 31, 2020. It goes without saying that our 2020-21 back-to-school efforts are very different, and unlike anything educators have ever had to prepare for. The extra week of preparation will be used to organize the best possible distance learning instruction for our students – they deserve it! While the physical location of where our student will receive live daily instruction from their teachers may change, our goal will remain the same – to meet the learning needs of each and every student we are fortunate enough to teach. I give you my word that as educators, the South Bay Union Elementary School District will do everything within our control to meet this difficult moment by keeping learning a priority regardless of the instructional model. Good Monday morning! We wanted to let everyone know that the spring pictures that so many of you have been wondering and asking about have finally arrived! We will go through them, organize them, and figure out a strategy to distribute them to you. Thanks so much for your patience with the pictures and everything else during this unprecedented time!

Dear Pine Hill and South Bay Families, I am sending this letter today to let you know that we are accepting Explore After School Program registrations for the 20-21 school year. There will be limited spaces in the Explore After School Program, so placement will be given based on the acceptance points matrix (see Explore Application). Please register by visiting our website at https://www.southbayusd.org/. Download and fill out the Explore After School Registration Form, and email it to Julie Bonomini at jbonomini@southbayusd.org or mail it to 6077 Loma Ave, Eureka, CA 95503 by August 5, 2020. Families will be notified by Aug. 14, 2020 of acceptance into the Explore After School Program. If you have already filled out a registration form, you can disregard this letter. Pine Hill yearbook distribution from 10:00-1:00 today in front of the office. Please stay in your car and pull up to the tables. Yearbooks are FREE to all Pine Hill students! We hope the kids like them! Mrs. Bonomini will be in front accepting EXPLORE applications as well.

Good morning everyone! We finally received our yearbooks! From 10:00-1:00 Monday and Tuesday next week, Mrs. Bonomini and I will be in the parking lot in front of the school distributing yearbooks. Come by and we'll make sure your child receives their free copy. See you then!

As most of you know, Pine Hill is purchasing yearbooks for all students this year. Unfortunately, we found out today that the company is behind on getting them printed and sent out. It is unlikely we'll have them for the students next week when you drop off their devices and pick up their personal items, but we'll have a day later in June when you can come to the school to pick up their yearbook. Sorry for the inconvenience.
